Exploring the idea about the magician and the boy. These are some starter ideas for the magician's house. Nothing's set yet. I'm just mish-mashing parts of houses I like together and seeing what happens. Oh and life drawing. Hurray! I have time for life drawing again! You know three years ago I never thought I'd say that...

Goofiest lightsaber-battle ever...

No, not Yoda and Dooku. Palpatine and Mace Windu. It's like Lucas was playing Street fighter, saw E-Honda do his headbutt and said 'You know what would be cool? If Palpatine did that but held his saber in front of him. Oh yeah and then he twirled!" Actually I guess Lucas must have been using M. Bison. Anyhoo do yourself a favour and freeze-frame the expressions on Palpatine when he's fighting. Good comedy.

Also did some speed painting with Sloth. Not a huge fan of this thing but the blog hungers for food. So there's a hag holding... something that I guess I never finished over a glowing pit of some kind.

And I'm just going to throw it out there that a Vancouver without a ManMay is like cake without icing. What's the damn point?

Laborgia

So in third semester at school I did a "heavy lifting" assignment with what might have been the ugliest character design in the world. I periodically try to redesign Laborgia. So that's the fat woman in the dress. This is much much nicer than the original but I still have bits of it I'm not thrilled with... that hair doesn't really work. Oh well. Live and learn.

Happy New Years y'all! Just a couple coffee shop sketches to start off the new year. The weird person was a CRAZY old lady outside the shop. She was CRAZY.

So there's this kid on the bus wearing a green checkerboard snowboard suit that could have easily accommodated four other people. I wanted to see it inflated. Then I figured you'd need a bubble helmet to keep the air in. Then he morphed into Mr. Freeze and he got drawn with a freeze gun (that's what that is, yeah). End of anecdote. In other news Merry Christmas everybody! probably my last pre-Christmas post unless I get bored in Winnipeg which is unlikely because there's a lot of drinking to be done! Have one yourselves! Well I've gotta start sending the new portfolio around and stuff but I was advised that it would be a good idea to have some kind of online version. And here it be! Look yonder to my links to see! And I'm posting an updated version of my youtube reel with my windy door assignment on it and minus that last minute melting maid thing that I was never really thrilled with.
